Missy Amidon

Missy joined the CITGO Petroleum Corporation Lake Charles Manufacturing Complex Government & Public Affairs team in January 2012 as the Public Affairs Coordinator. She serves the community as a volunteer for Team CITGO, manages the company fundraising efforts for United Way of SWLA and Muscular Dystrophy Association, and coordinates other corporate social responsibility projects. She is a member of the CHRISTUS St. Patrick Hospital Foundation Board. Missy received a Bachelor of Arts in public relations from McNeese State University, and she is a 2013 graduate of Leadership Southwest. She is the proud mother of daughter, Taylor, and twin boys, Alec and Mason. She has one grandson, Kasen. Missy participated in the Mad Hot Ballroom gala as an Emcee in 2016 and 2017. She looks forward to continuing her support of Dancing Classrooms and hopes her participation will heighten awareness of this important program.

 

 

 

Daniel Gonzalez

Daniel was born in Venezuela, where he learned to dance Salsa at an early age. He worked as a professional model, trainer, and Latin dance aerobics instructor. Since moving here in 2004, he has been the Lake Area’s leading Latin dance instructor. Daniel is a former Teaching Artist for Dancing Classrooms. He has  a bachelor’s degree in arts & science and a master’s degree in Spanish education. He has been a teacher at Frasch Elementary School and Orangefield High School in Orange ,TX.  Presently, he is studying Process Technology at Sowela Technical Community College.  Daniel is a Zumba instructor and is regularly recruited by area businesses to give dance demonstrations, teach classes, and organize Latin music events. Daniel won 2nd  Place in MHB 2011 with his partner, Phyllis Thibodeaux and 3rd Place in MHB 2013 with Nomica Guillory. Daniel is the proud father of Alexia (13) and Daniel Ignacio (10).
