Shannon Lafargue

Shannon Lafargue star logo tiny

Shannon was born and raised in Kinder, LA where he graduated from Kinder High School. Shannon earned an associate degree from East Central Community College in Decatur, MS, a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in education from McNeese State University, and a Ph.D. in educational leadership from the University of New Orleans. Shannon played and coached basketball collegiately and continued his coaching passion at the high school level, coaching at Sam Houston High School and Barbe High School. While at Barbe, he was named the Louisiana High School Basketball “Coach of the Year” in 2007. He moved into administration at Barbe High School in 2007, serving as Assistant Principal, and in 2014, became Principal of Barbe High School. He is currently the Chief Operating Officer for the Calcasieu Parish School System. Shannon is married to Angie and has three children, Courtney, Madison, and Logan.

 

 

 

Emily Porché

Emily was born and raised in Lake Charles. She graduated from McNeese State University, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in marketing. Currently, Emily is the event manager at the Burton Coliseum Complex, where she schedules, coordinates and manages events taking place in all three facilities. Emily serves on the board of the Arts and Humanities Council as the 1st  Vice President. She has been dancing since she was 7 years old and was a dance instructor at Tammy Palmer’s Center Stage for several years. Emily is married to Cody Porche, owner of Porche Aerial Imagery, and she is a proud dog mom. In 2015, Emily danced with Dr. Kalieb Pourciau and won the Best Costume Award. In 2016, she danced with Matt Young and won the Originality Award and 2nd  Place. Last year, she and Adam Johnson won the Originality Award and the 1st Place Mirror Ball.
