Sonya Brooks

Sonya was raised in Simpson, LA until heading to college at Louisiana Tech University where she earned dual bachelor’s degrees in speech pathology and child life & family studies. She completed her master’s degree in speech-language pathology at ULM in Monroe, LA before marrying her high school sweetheart, Stacey. As newlyweds, Sonya and her husband decided to make the big move south, making Lake Charles their new home.

Sonya worked as a speech pathologist throughout the Lake Charles area for over 10 years before opening Hope Therapy Center in 2008. Sonya had a vision for a comprehensive outpatient clinic that offered physical, occupational, speech, and aquatic therapy for patients across the lifespan. That vision was fully realized when she built her new clinic on Imperial Blvd. When asked to dance, it was an easy “yes”, as the vision of both Dancing Classrooms and her clinic are so closely aligned
